3D bioprinter – for prosthetics
I was a working on the multitask 3D printer (Biocloner) which was designed for tissue engineering and prosthetics. This device was utilizing industrial positioning devices, controlled with PLCs, exchangeable printing heads (high / low temperature, for thermoplastics, fluids or gels).
Thanks to the unique method of printing, the products are bio-compatible, meaning that in the future, they can be used for creating tissue structures used for saving animal and human lives. To provide clean environment, the working area is fully isolated from the mechanical parts, with UV sterilizing lighting and air cleaners with HEPA filters.
In this project, I was coordinating the work of electronics, automatics and software engineers as well as developing modules for controlling the whole printing process.
When the prototype was finished, I left the project. Right now, after finding an investor, the company is in the stage of implementing the technology in medical processes.
